COLLECT OF THE DAY
Eternal God,
who caused all holy scriptures to be written for our learning,
grant us so to hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them,
that we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life,
which you have given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Amen

BLESSING
Loving and compassionate God,
we pray for all who have laboured for liberty, freedom and justice;
for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice;
for those who in life and death have preserved our living.
Grant that they may rest in your peace, and that we, through our actions,
may be found worthy to inherit the eternal treasures of your kingdom.
Amen.
