Tea à Tempo 2025 Season

Music Makers announces 2025 Tea à Tempo series lineup

Presented by Music Makers, Tea à Tempo is a Wednesday afternoon live music series at All Saints by-the-Sea, showcasing creative and exceptional local musicians on Salt Spring Island. Shows are at 2:10pm on Wednesdays, by donation, with tea and treats available afterwards for $5.00. 

June 4 - Sam Schuette 
Local guitarist/bassist Sam Schuette will share his beautiful and peaceful acoustic music. 

June 11 - Edgar Hann & Em Walker with Adam Huber 
Featuring the Newfoundland button accordion and ugly stick, this eclectic group performs originals and covers from Ireland, England and Newfoundland, expressing the diversity of experience and lifestyle of Canadian Indigenous People. 

June 18 - Angélica Lopez-Arzate 
Professional concert pianist Angélica Lopez-Arzate will share a concert program featuring Latin-American themed and classical repertoire. 

June 25 - Cottonwood 
Cottonwood is a country and Americana duo featuring lots of harmonies and classic repertoire by John Prine, Hank Williams, Merle Haggard, as well as originals by bassist Susanna Braund. 

July 2 - Women of Note 
Women of Note Choral Ensemble is an intimate group of six women who sing primarily a cappella repertoire, embracing different musical styles ranging from Medieval times to the present day. Their performances are theme-based and often include songs by Canadian female composers or with audience participation. 

July 9 - Andy Meyers 
Local songwriter and theatre composer Andy Meyers will share from his catalogue of graceful, playful songs on guitar and voice, with Sam Schuette on bass. 

July 16 - Afternoon Shift 
Afternoon Shift is a jazz quintet of friends who met in the Swing Shift big band. Their repertoire spans classic 20th Century jazz standards, bossa nova and funk, as well as originals. 

July 23 - The Sonic Cocktail 
The Sonic Cocktail is a local multi-genre group that plays jazz, R&B, pop, folk, and classic rock, sharing stories about the music’s evolution as a backdrop to their captivating performances. 

July 30 - Simon Millerd & Alex Pinto 
Renowned local jazz musicians Simon Millerd (trumpet, keys) and Alex Pinto (guitar) will perform a set of ambient music drawing on their mutual jazz, pop, world, and classical influences. 

Aug 6 - The 270s 
The 270s are David Storm, who plays an RD 2000, and Bill Morrison who sings. Together they play pop music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, including the Beatles, Paul Simon, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Sting, and Mark Knopfler. 

Aug 13 - Shelder the Electric Clamfish 
The brainchild of local trumpeter Michelle Footz, Shelder and the Electric Clamfish perform her introspective folk-punk based on folktales and legends with themes of maturation and female empowerment. 

Aug 20 - Roly Poly String Trio 
The Roly Poly String Trio will be performing music played on an unusual combination of instruments including the electric and acoustic guitar, the Celtic harp, the Koto (Japanese harp), and percussion, creating a tapestry of music flavoured with Japanese and other world music influences. 

Aug 27 - Caraluna 
Caraluna is an indie folk-world music ensemble that blends evocative storytelling with vibrant, cross-cultural instrumentation. The ensemble creates a rich, resonant sound that bridges Eastern European brass traditions with Latin folk rhythms and poetic lyricism. 

Sept 3 - Chris Gestrin 
Renowned jazz pianist and film composer Chris Gestrin will perform a set of solo piano music.

Oct 1 - OhrR 
OhrR is the drums and sax duo of Reed Richard and Oliver Hodswood. Together they create improvisations that aim to move beyond traditional thought-forms of music and into the space of conversation between the instruments. 

Nov 5 - Dave Des 
Dave Des will share a set of his original music on voice and acoustic guitar, along with Simon Millerd on trumpet and keys, Sam Schuette on bass, Justin Kelley (aka Hownd) on drums and a special guest violinist. 

Dec 3 - Music Makers Dream Team 
The Music Makers team - Meredith Bates (violin), Mary Kastle (piano, voice), Simon Millerd (trumpet, keys), David Storm (keyboards) will share some inspired holiday music magic!
