Almighty God,
To you all hearts are open,
all desires known,
and from you no secrets are hidden.
Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts
by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit,
that we may perfectly love you,
and worthily magnify your holy name;
through Christ our Lord. Amen.

COLLECT OF THE DAY  -  A Prayer Book for Australia (1995) alt.
O Christ for whom we search,
our help when help has failed:
give us courage to expose our need
and ask to be made whole,
so that, being touched by you,
we may be raised to new life
in the power of your name. Amen.

Before watching the service, we invite you to read the lectionary first.  The links below are the actual texts; you can use your favourite Bible or read the texts right here:
Wisdom 1:13-15, 2:23-24
Psalm 30
2 Corinthians 8:7-15
Mark 5:21-43

Creator God, you call us to love and serve you with body, mind, and spirit
through loving your creation and our sisters and brothers. Open our hearts in
compassion and receive these petitions on behalf of the needs of the church and
the world.

As we pray together please respond to ‘Holy Spirit’ with the words Help Us.

Loving God,
We ask for the gift of your Holy Spirit
to help us pray as we ought.
Holy Spirit: Help Us.

We ask for the energy and vision of your Spirit
for those who are tiring in the battle against injustice and oppression:
for those exhausted by the struggle with poverty and hunger.
Holy Spirit: Help Us.

We ask for the hope and comfort of your Spirit
for those whose lives are overshadowed by illness or pain;
for those whose lives are darkened by sorrow or bereavement.
Holy Spirit: Help Us.

We ask for the peace and joy of your Spirit
for those living in the shadow of war and violence;
for those eaten up by guilt and anxiety
and whose Christian life has become hard and dry.
Holy Spirit: Help Us.

We ask for the guidance and strength of your Spirit
for those uncertain how to use their time, talents and gifts;
for those tempted to do what is wrong.
Holy Spirit: Help Us.

We ask for the love and courage of your Spirit,
for those reaching out to comfort the distressed,
for those reaching out to others with the Good News of Christ.
Holy Spirit: Help Us.

In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, we pray for the people of the Church of Pakistan (United) and Humphrey Peters, moderator and bishop of Peshawar.

And on our Island, we pray for the people of Our Lady of Grace and St. Paul's Historic churches and Scott Whittemore, their priest.
Holy Spirit: Help Us.

In our own Parish, we pray this week for the households of Judy and Mike Tyson, Elizabeth and Don Van Akker, Julian Wake, Colin Ward, and Joan and Jim Warren.

I invite you to pray for those in your life whom you hold dear.
Holy Spirit: Help Us.

Loving God, We ask for the assurance of your Spirit to know your presence with us in our daily lives: in our relationships; in our work and service; in our worship; in our times of joy and pain.
Holy Spirit: Help Us.

Holy One, hear our prayers and make us faithful stewards of the fragile bounty of this earth so that we may be entrusted with the riches of heaven. We ask all this through Jesus Christ our Lord as we pray in the words he taught us:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be your name,
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done,
On earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial
And deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours,
Now and forever. Amen.

THE PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL COMMUNION  -  Diocese of Islands and Inlets
Jesus, we believe that you are truly present in the eucharistic meal.
We love you above all else,
and long to receive you in the sharing of this sacrament.
Help us to be aware of your presence with us in spirit,
particularly at this time
when we are unable to receive you in this sacred meal.
We thank you for your promise that you are with us always,
and that with you at the centre we are united wholly
to you, each other, and the world in which we live.
We pray this in your holy name. Amen.

Glory to God,
whose power, working in us,
can do infinitely more
than we can ask or imagine.
Glory to God from generation to generation,
in the Church and in Christ Jesus,
for ever and ever. Amen.

Christ the Son of righteousness shine upon you
and scatter the darkness from before your path
and the blessing of God
Creator, Redeemer and Giver of life
be with you always. Amen.

Go in peace. God is loving you already and always.
Thanks be to God.
