HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLESSINGS to Gloria Dorworth (May 30), Dennis Hayden (June 1), Diane Hayden (June 1), Jim Warren (June 1), Jim Smith (June 3), and Corvi Zeman (June 4).
O God, our times are in your hand:
Look with favour, we pray, on your servants, Gloria, Dennis, Diane, Jim Warren, Jim Smith, and Corvi, as they begin another year. Grant that they may grow in wisdom and grace, and strengthen their trust in your goodness all the days of their lives; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

ANNIVERSARY OF ORDINATION PRAYER for Gyllian Davies, who celebrates four years of ministry on June 4:
Holy God, we thank you for raising up people of faith to shepherd us, to preach your Word, to bring us new life in Christ, and to nourish, forgive, heal and strengthen us through the Sacraments of your Church. We thank you for the gift of Rev'd. Gyllian's priesthood: As you have blessed her during her four years of ministry, grant that she may continue to keep her ordination vows, fulfill her duties of ministry, serve your people, build up your Church, and glorify your name; we pray in the name of Jesus, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

WE REMEMBER the late Linda Overholt who died last year on June 4.
The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.  [Deut. 33.27]

Please let us know if you wish any blessings or would like prayers for someone special to be added in the Prayers of the People for next Sunday by emailing The deadline is Tuesday morning before the coming Sunday. Thanks!

Alleluia. Christ is risen.
Christ is risen indeed. Alleluia.
Welcome in the name of Christ.
God’s grace, mercy and peace be with you
And also with you.

Almighty God,
To you all hearts are open,
all desires known,
and from you no secrets are hidden.
Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts
by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit,
that we may perfectly love you,
and worthily magnify your holy name;
through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Holy God,
faithful and unchanging:
enlarge our minds with the knowledge of your truth,
and draw us more deeply into the mystery of your love,
that we may truly worship you,
Creator, Son and Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen.

As we pray together please respond to Holy Spirit with the words, Help Us.

Loving God,
We ask for the gift of your Holy Spirit
To Help us pray as we ought.
Holy Spirit: Help Us.

In the Anglican cycle of prayer, we pray for the people of La Iglesia Anglicana de Mexico and Francisco Manuel Moreno, their primate.
In the Anglican Church of Canada, we pray for our Primate, Linda Nicholls, for our Indigenous Archbishop, Mark MacDonald, and for the clergy and people of the Diocese of Toronto, Andrew Asbil, their bishop, and Kevin Robertson and Riscylla Shaw their suffragan bishops.
In our Ecclesticastical Province, we pray for the people of the Diocese of Caledonia and David Lehmann, their bishop.
In our Diocese, we pray for Anna Greenwood Lee our bishop, and for the people of Trinity Anglican and Lutheran Church in Port Alberni and Brenda Nestegaard Paul, their priest.
And on our own Island, we pray for the people of Our Lady of Grace and St Paul's Historic churches and Father Scott Whittemore, their priest.
In our own parish, we pray this week for the households of Jocelyn Santiago and Brian Marshall, David and Reiko Sasaki, Carole and Chris Scott, Ruth Seltzer and Anke Smeele.

We ask for the energy and vision of your Spirit for those who are tiring in the battle against injustice and oppression:
For those exhausted by the struggle with poverty and hunger.
Holy Spirit: Help Us.

We ask for the hope and comfort of your Spirit for those whose lives are overshadowed by illness or pain; for those whose lives are darkened by sorrow or bereavement.

We pray especially for Kathy Darling, Tony and Pam Brentnall, Sharon, niece of Helen and Tony Bruce, Tim Hayes, Nancy Holcroft, Mark MacDonald and his wife Virgina Sha Lynn, Terri Manuck, Michael Overholt, Michael Pidgeon and Richard Stetson, Al and Rita Robertson, Colin son of Joyce James, Malorey and Wanda Stewart, Margaret Spencer and Nemke Quarrington.

We send David and Reiko Sasaki back to Japan with our blessing. May they continue to walk in the light of the spirit for the rest of their lives.
Holy Spirit: Help Us.

We ask for the peace and joy of your Spirit for those living in the shadow of war and violence; for those eaten up by guilt and anxiety and whose Christian life has become hard and dry.
Holy Spirit: Help Us.

We ask for the guidance and strength of your Spirit for those uncertain how to use their time, talents and gifts’ for those tempted to do what is wrong.
Holy Spirit: Help Us.

We ask for the love and courage of your Spirit for those reaching out to comfort the distressed; for those reaching out to others with the Good News of Christ.
Holy Spirit: Help Us.

Loving God, We ask for the assurance of your Spirit To know your presence with us in our daily lives:
In our relationships
In our work and service
In our worship
In out times of joy and pain.
Holy Spirit: Help Us.

Let us join our voices together in the prayer Jesus taught us:
Our Father Who Art in Heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy Kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom
And the power and the glory
Forever and ever.   In Jesus name: Amen.

In union, O Lord, with your faithful people at every altar of your Church,
where the Holy Eucharist is now being celebrated, we desire to offer to you
praise and thanksgiving. We remember your death, Lord Christ; we proclaim your resurrection; we await your coming in glory. Since we cannot receive you today in the Sacrament of your Body and Blood, we beseech you to come spiritually into our hearts. Cleanse and strengthen us with your grace, Lord Jesus, and let us never be separated from you. May we live in you, and you in us, in this life and in the life to come. Amen.

Glory to God,
whose power, working in us,
can do infinitely more
than we can ask or imagine.
Glory to God from generation to generation,
in the Church and in Christ Jesus,
for ever and ever. Amen.

May our Lord Jesus Christ
be near you to defend you,
within you to refresh you,
around you to preserve you,
before you to guide you,
behind you to justify you,
above you to bless you;
and the blessing of almighty God,
the Creator, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
be among you and remain with you always. Amen.

Go into the world rejoicing in the wholeness and mystery of the Trinity.
Thanks be to God.
