O God, our times are in your hand:
Look with favour, we pray, on your servant Corvi as he begins another year. Grant that he may grow in wisdom and grace, and strengthen his trust in your goodness all the days of his life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

ANNIVERSARY BLESSINGS to Doreen & Wayne Hewitt, who celebrate their 34th Wedding Anniversary today (June 7):
By the power of your Holy Spirit, pour out the abundance of your blessing upon this man and this woman. Defend them from every enemy. Lead them into all peace. Let their love for each other be a seal upon their hearts, a mantle about their shoulders, and a crown upon their foreheads. Bless them in their work and in their companionship; in their sleeping and in their waking; in their joys and in their sorrows; in their life and in their death. Finally, in your mercy, bring them to that table where your saints feast for ever in your heavenly home; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

ANNIVERSARY of ORDINATION PRAYER for Gyllian Davies, who celebrated three years of ministry on June 4:
Holy God, we thank you for raising up people of faith to shepherd us, to preach your Word, to bring us new life in Christ, and to nourish, forgive, heal and strengthen us through the Sacraments of your Church. We thank you for the gift of Rev'd. Gyllian's priesthood: As you have blessed her during her three years of ministry, grant that she may continue to keep her ordination vows, fulfill her duties of ministry, serve your people, build up your Church, and glorify your name; we pray in the name of Jesus, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Please let us know if you wish any blessings for next Sunday by emailing [email protected] Thanks!

Collect of the Day - Revised Common Lectionary Prayers (2002) alt.
Holy One, whose fingers sculpted sun and moon;
Holy Spirit, who brooded over the waters of creation;
Holy Word, who lives in us;
may we share in your grace, love and communion, so that we may live in your likeness;
for you live in unity and diversity, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Affirmation of Faith - A Celtic Creed
We believe in God above us, maker and sustainer of all life, of sun and moon, of water and earth, of male and female.

We believe in God beside us, Jesus Christ, the word made flesh, born of a woman, servant of the poor, tortured and nailed to a tree. A man who experienced sorrow, he died forsaken. He descended into the earth to the place of death. On the third day he rose from the tomb. He ascended into heaven, to be everywhere present, and His kingdom will come on earth.

We believe in God within us, the Holy Spirit of Pentecostal fire, life-giving breath of the Church, Spirit of healing and forgiveness, source of resurrection and of eternal life. Amen.

Trinity Sunday in the Season of PENTECOST - PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE:
Adapted From Flames of the Spirit, Ruth C. Duck, The Pilgrim Press, 1985, p. 47.

Intercessor: On this Octave Day of Pentecost, let us pray that the Holy Spirit will be continually in our midst inspiring us with the dance of love made manifest in the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Let us pray to God saying:

People: Come, Holy Spirit, come.

Intercessor: Enter our lives. Free us from all fear. Give us strength to carry on. Give us hope and joy sufficient for each day – Let us pray to God saying

People: Come, Holy Spirit, come.

Intercessor: Impart your many gifts to our members, that we may be the body of Christ’s presence in the world.

In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, we pray for La Iglesia Anglicana de Mexico and its presiding Bishop Francisco Moreneo

In the Anglican Church of Canada, we pray for our Primate, Linda Nicholls, for our Indigenous Archbishop, Mark MacDonald, and for the theological colleges and training programs within the Ecclesiastical Province of Ontario.

In our Ecclesiastical Province of British Columbia and the Yukon, we pray for the Diocese of Caledonia; Bishop David Lehmann, the clergy, and people.

In our Diocese, we pray for Ansley Tucker, Dean of Columbia and Diocesan Administrator and for the parish of Holy Trinity Sooke and its priest Dimas Canjura.

And on our Island, we pray for Salt Spring Island United Church and its minister, Faye Greer.

In our own Parish, we pray this week for the households of Louis and Ruth Pepin, Debbie, Emma, and Dave Philips, Claire Pickering, Denise Quarrington, and Michael Pidgeon and Richard Stetson.

O Blessed Trinity, free us from all fear and renew our life together as we pray

People: Come, Holy Spirit, come.

We lift up to you Gale Hingston and her family, Brian & Marjie Radford, Tony & Pam Brentnall, Letitia Lane, Bob & Connie Wray, Joan & Jim Warren, Nancy & Don MacDougall, and Gloria Dorworth.

Bind us together not only with the sheep of this fold but all of Christ’s people around this community and around the world. Forgive the pride, prejudice, and self-righteousness which separate us from one another as we pray,

People: Come, Holy Spirit, come:

We pray for those who have died.

On Salt Spring this has been a week of painful loss.

In our own parish, we pray for Linda Overholt who died after a long illness on Wednesday evening.  We pray for Michael who is bereft and has asked not to be contacted for now.

We pray for John and Jennifer Quesnel and the three sons they have left behind. We pray for many in our community who are badly touched by their tragic deaths.

We pray for Matt Steffich a great leader in the arts on Salt Spring who died of a heart attack in his Gallery on Wednesday.

Rest Eternal Grant Unto Them O Lord, May They Rest in Peace, and Rise in Glory.

Holy Trinity bring comfort to those who mourn this we pray,

People: Come, Holy Spirit, come:

Intercessor: That all may be one in Christ, Source of all true unity, who is with us today and always, even to the end of time. Amen.

Glory to God,
whose power, working in us,
can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine.
Glory to God from generation to generation,
in the Church and in Christ Jesus,
for ever and ever. Amen.

The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace;
And the Blessing of God – Creator, Healer, Breather of Life…
Be with you and remain with you always. Amen.

Go in peace to be a bright flame of justice and the breath of God’s love in the world.
Thanks be to God.
