ANNIVERSARY BLESSINGS to Walter Stewart & Ron Dyck, who celebrate their 38th Wedding Anniversary on Oct 14.
By the power of your Holy Spirit, pour out the abundance of your blessing upon these two people. Defend them from every enemy. Lead them into all peace. Let their love for each other be a seal upon their hearts, a mantle about their shoulders, and a crown upon their foreheads. Bless them in their work and in their companionship; in their sleeping and in their waking; in their joys and in their sorrows; in their life and in their death. Finally, in your mercy, bring them to that table where your saints feast for ever in your heavenly home; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

WE REMEMBER the late Rt Revd Barry Valentine, who died 12 years ago on Oct 16.
The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.  [Deut. 33.27]

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
During this Litany of Thanksgiving please join with me in offering your thanks with the phrase, We thank you God.

Today, let us come to God with thanksgiving for all that is good in the world; . For the harvest of our farms and gardens; for things great and small, beautiful and awe inspiring; for seen and unseen splendours. We thank you God.

For human life; for talking and moving and thinking together; for common hopes and hardships shared from birth until our dying; We thank you, God.

For work to do, and strength to work; for the comradeship of labor; for exchanges of good humor and encouragement; We thank you, God.

For family; for living together and eating together; for the technology that connects us to our loved ones far away; for family amusements and for good memories of happy times spent together. We thank you, God.

For children; for their energy and curiosity; for their creative play and startling frankness; for their sudden sympathies, their affection and love; We thank you, God.

For the young; for their high hopes, and determination; for their new ways of seeing things; for their search for freedom and their identity in the world. We thank you, God.

We thank you for growing up and for growing old; for wisdom deepened by experience; for rest in leisure; for your strength in our weakness and for time made precious by its passing; We thank you, God.

For the Church into which we have been called; for the Good News we receive by Word and Sacrament; for our life together in Christ. We thank you, God.

Let us pray for the Church.

In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, we pray for the people of the church of the Province of West Africa and Jonathan Bau-Bau Bonaparte Hart, their primate.
In the Anglican Church of Canada, we pray for our primate, Linda Nicholls, for our National Indigenous Archbishop, Mark MacDonald, and for the clergy and the people of the Diocese of Caledonia, and David Lehman, their bishop.
In our Ecclesiastical Province, we pray for the Territory of the People.
In our Diocese, we pray for Anna our Bishop, and for the people of St Dunstan in Gordon Head and Jeremy Carr their priest.
On our island, we pray for the people of the Community Gospel Chapel and Dustin Little, their interim pastor.
In our own parish, we pray for Gyllian our priest and we give thanks for her ministry with us. We pray for our congregation that worships both online and in the church, that we may be held together in love and unity by your grace and heavenly benediction.
This week we pray for the Treasurer, Accountant and Finance Committee and also for the households of Sharon and Ben Neufeld, John and Bridget Metzger, and Sue Mouat, Michael Overholt, Marjorie Pearcy and Andrew Peat.
For their lives, We thank you God

We thank you for your help in times of sickness, doubt and sorrow. This morning we pray especially Nancy Holcroft, Kathy Darling, Sam and Mary Balden, Tony and Pam Brentnall, Colin James, Mark MacDonald and Virginia Sha Lynn, Al and Rita Robertson, Tina Tau and Julian Wake.

I invite you to name any others on your heart…

For your your healing touch and comforting presence, We thank you God

For your Holy Spirit, who guides our steps and brings us gifts of faith and love; who prays in us and prompts our grateful worship; We thank you, God.

And Above all, O God, we thank you for your Son Jesus Christ, who taught us to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

We thank and praise you, Eternal God, for all your goodness to us.
Give thanks to the Lord, who is good.
God’s love is everlasting. Amen.

DOXOLOGY
Glory to God,
whose power, working in us,
can do infinitely more
than we can ask or imagine.
Glory to God from generation to generation,
in the Church and in Christ Jesus,
for ever and ever. Amen.

BLESSING
May the love of the Word made flesh enfold you,
his joy fill your lives, his peace be in your hearts;
and the blessing of God, Creator, Word and Holy Spirit,
be with you this day/night and always.

DISMISSAL
Having been fed by the Bread of Eternal Life, go to this starving world.
We will go and make known the abundance of our God.
