WE REMEMBER the late John Palmer Sr., who died 16 years ago on Apr 17 at age 89;
the late Edna Gatt, who died 10 years ago on Apr 19 at age 91;
the late Heather Ewing, who died 15 years ago on Apr 21 at age 68;
the late Phyllis Henderson, who died 7 years ago on Apr 21 at age 103.
The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. [Deut. 33.27]

O God of the living, you made the tomb of death the womb from which you bring forth your Son, the first-born of a new creation: make us joyful witnesses to this good news, so that all humanity may one day gather at the feast of new life in that kingdom where you reign for ever and ever. Amen.

We pray to Jesus who is present with us now and into eternity.  

Please respond to Jesus, Lord of life, with in your mercy, hear us.  

Jesus, our way, our truth, our life, be with us, your church, and all who follow you in The Way throughout the world.

In the Anglican cycle of prayer, we pray for the church in Pakistan.

In the Anglican Church of Canada, we pray for our Primate, Linda Nicholls, and the National Archbishop Mark Macdonald. Also the most Rev. Anne Germond, Archbishop, and the clergy and people of the Diocese of Algoma.

In our ecclesiastical province, we pray for the Diocese of Kootenay and archbishop Lynne McNaughton.

In our Diocese we pray for Anna our Bishop and the congregation of Holy Trinity, Sooke.

On our island, we pray for SSI Baptist church and Chris Saffel, their pastor.

In our Parish we pray for Gyllian our priest and for the work of the administrative staff, and for the households of Colin Ward, Jim and Joan Warren, Ralf Waters, Simon Wheeler, Caroline Whereatt and Nancy Wigen. Deepen our appreciation of your truth and fill us with your life. Jesus, Lord of life, in your mercy, hear us.  

Jesus, light of the world, bring the light and peace of your gospel to the nations. We continue to pray for Ukraine and Russia. We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow, that your Spirit of Comfort would draw near to them. We pray for those with power over war and peace, for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions. We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons. Jesus, Lord of life, in your mercy, hear us.  

Jesus, bread of life, give food to the hungry, to the homeless and to all refugees around the world who have fled their countries, lost their homes, and who are separated from their loved ones… Nourish us all with your word. Jesus, Lord of life, in your mercy, hear us.      

Jesus, Good Shepherd who gave your life for the sheep, lead the healthy and strong to new pastures, recover the straggler, bind up the injured, strengthen the sick and the vulnerable.  Especially today in our Parish we pray for Kathy Darling, Mark Fraser, Stephanie’s grandmother Mary Gelpke, Colin Lawler and his family, Mark MacDonald and Virginia Sha Lynn, Don MacDougall, Sarah Mathiesen and her family, Michael Pidgeon and Richard Stetson, Ruth Seltner and her family, Carles’ father Joseph Roch, Al and Rita Robertson, Simon Wheeler and his family, Mike and Ros Woolley, and Connie and Bob Wray. Jesus, Lord of life, in your mercy, hear us.  

Jesus, the Resurrection and the Life, we give you thanks for all who have lived and believed in you …we remember those in our parish who have more recently left us to be with you…  Brian Radford, Julian Wake, Janet Wheeler, Heather Lawler, Dorothy Pickett, and Duncan Mathiesen. And I invite you to name in your hearts any others whom you have loved and are remembering on this Easter day…   … Raise us with them to eternal life. Jesus, Lord of life, in your mercy, hear us.  

O Lord Jesus, you are the Resurrection and the Life. You bring light into our darkness and hope into our world. Accept our prayers and be with us always. Amen.  Amen. 

Glory to God,
whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine.
Glory to God from generation to generation, in the Church and in Christ Jesus, for ever and ever.  Amen. 

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you And give you peace. And the blessing of God, Source of all being, eternal Word and Holy Spirit, be among you and remain with you always. Amen.
