Welcome & Acknowledgement

Gathering of the Community
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
and the love of God,
and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit
be with you all.
And also with you.

Alleluia! Christ is Risen!
The Lord is Risen indeed. Alleluia!

May his grace and peace be with you.
May he fill our hearts with joy.

Collect for Purity
Almighty God,
to you all hearts are open
all desires known
and from you no secrets are hidden.
Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts
that we may perfectly love you
and worthily magnify your love
through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Collect of the Day - from Prayers for an Inclusive Church (2009) alt.
Holy One, you breathe the word of love
and the promise of new creation
into the secret places of our lives.
Teach us the costly way of fearless love and priceless peace;
through Jesus Christ, who dwells in us. Amen.

Before watching the service, we invite you to read the lectionary first. The links below are the actual texts; you can use your favourite Bible or read the texts right here:

Numbers 11:24-30

John 20:19-23

Affirmation of Faith - A Celtic Creed
We believe in God above us, maker and sustainer of all life, of sun and moon, of water and earth, of male and female.

We believe in God beside us, Jesus Christ, the word made flesh, born of a woman, servant of the poor, tortured and nailed to a tree. A man who experienced sorrow, he died forsaken. He descended into the earth to the place of death. On the third day he rose from the tomb. He ascended into heaven, to be everywhere present, and His kingdom will come on earth.

We believe in God within us, the Holy Spirit of Pentecostal fire, life-giving breath of the Church, Spirit of healing and forgiveness, source of resurrection and of eternal life. Amen.

From Flames of the Spirit, Ruth C. Duck, The Pilgrim Press, 1985, p. 47.

Intercessor: Let us pray…
People: Come, Holy Spirit, come:

Intercessor: Enter our lives. Free us from all fear. Give us strength to carry on. Give us hope and joy sufficient for each day.

People: Come, Holy Spirit, come: Give us power to be the church.

Intercessor: Impart your many gifts to our members, that we may be the body of Christ’s presence in the world.

In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, we pray for the Anglican Church of Melanesia and Revd Leonard Dawea, their Archbishop.
In the Anglican Church of Canada, we pray for our Primate, Linda Nicholls, for our Indigenous Archbishop, Mark MacDonald, and for the clergy and people of the Diocese of Toronto and their bishops, Andrew Asbil, Peter Fenty, Riscylla Walsh-Shaw, Kevin Robertson, and Jenny Andison.
In our Ecclesiastical Province, we pray for the Territory of the People and their bishop, Barbara Andrews, and bishop-elect, Lincoln McKoen.
In our Diocese, we pray for Ansley Tucker, the diocesan administrator, and for St. Columba, Port Hardy, and St. John, Port Alice, and their priest, Alastair Hunting.
And on our Island, we pray for Our Lady of Grace and St Paul's Historic and their priest, Fr. Scott Whittemore.
In our own Parish, we pray this week for the households of Sharon Neufeld, Margaret Niven, Linda & Michael Overholt, Marjorie Pearcy, and Andrew Peat.
Free us from all fear and renew our life together.

People: Come, Holy Spirit, come: Bind us close together.

Intercessor: May we rejoice with one another’s joys and weep with one another’s sorrows. We lift up to you Gale Hingston and her family, Linda & Michael Overholt, Brian & Marjie Radford, Tony & Pam Brentnall, Letitia Lane, Bob & Connie Wray, Betty Rothwell, and Joan & Jim Warren.
[Silence for praying]
Bind us together, not only with the sheep of this fold, but all of Christ’s people around this city and world. Forgive the pride, prejudice, and self-righteousness which separate us from one another.

People: Come, Holy Spirit, come:

Intercessor: That all may be one in Christ, Source of all true unity, who is with us today and always, even to the end of time. Amen.

Glory to God,
whose power, working in us,
can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine.
Glory to God from generation to generation,
in the Church and in Christ Jesus,
for ever and ever. Amen.

The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace;
And the Blessing of God – Creator, Healer, Breather of Life…
Be with you and remain with you always. Amen.

Go in peace to be a bright flame of justice and the breath of God’s love in the world.
Thanks be to God.
