HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLESSINGS to Don Van Akker (July 30), John McCaw (Aug 1), David Phillips (Aug 1), Sue Savage (Aug 2) and Richard Stetson (Aug 2).
O God, our times are in your hand:
Look with favour, we pray, on your servants Don, John, David, Sue and Richard as they begin another year. Grant that they may grow in wisdom and grace, and strengthen their trust in your goodness all the days of their lives; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

WE REMEMBER the late Reg Lomas who died 13 years ago on July 31 at age 88 and
Ronald Stanley Holcroft who died 5 years ago on Aug 4 at age 98.
We also remember Courtenay Jane Steele on her birthday (July 30), lost at sea 13 years ago at age 26.
The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.
[Deut. 33.27]

And also with you.

Collect for Purity
Almighty God,
to you all hearts are open
all desires known
and from you no secrets are hidden.
Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts

and worthily magnify your love
through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Collect of the Day - Revised Common Lectionary Prayers (2002) alt.
God beyond all seeing and knowing,
we meet you in the night of change and crisis
and wrestle with you in darkness and doubt.

and to love as we are loved,
through Jesus Christ, your Son. Amen.

Doxology
Glory to God,
whose power, working in us,
can do infinitely more
than we can ask or imagine.
Glory to God from generation to generation,
in the Church and in Christ Jesus,
for ever and ever. Amen.

Blessing
The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace;
And the Blessing of God,
Creator, Healer, Breather of Life...
Be with you and remain with you always. Amen.

Dismissal
Go in peace to be a bright flame of generosity
and the heart of God’s love in the world.
Thanks be to God.
