DESCRIPTION:Hello Fellow Art Lovers and Parishioners:\nWe are happy to anno
 unce The Joy of Sketching Exhibit by Nancy Wigen. Nancy is a long time par
 ishioner and also member of the Salt Spring Island Painters Guild\, partic
 ipating in weekly en plein air outings with the Sketch Club.\nBorn on Salt
  Spring Island during the Great Depression\,  and raising 10 children her
 e\, she tells an important part of our island history. Nancy has been draw
 ing and painting the better part of her life\, and has been witness to man
 y events and changes here. She is truly a great inspiration to all of us i
 n the sketch group\, with her loose and lively watercolour sketches. At th
 e age of 92\, Nancy is fully engaged in community life. \nDespite mobilit
 y issues and tremors in her hand\, she carries on\, practicing the art she
  loves\, proving that age need not define us\, nor confine us to a rocking
  chair.  \nWhen: Saturday\, September 26\, from 2 till 5 pm \nWhere: Upp
 er Hall at All Saints by the Sea Anglican Church 110 Park Drive \nNancy w
 ill be raffling off a couple of pieces of art at the event to raise money 
 for Hope for Healing\, a charity with a focus on preventing blindness. Ple
 ase join us in celebrating Nancy and her wonderful paintings and sketches 
 throughout the years.
